摘要: Nasal mucosa has an extraordinary nerve supply with unique geometry that encompasses complex physiology. Among these, side-specific predilections to the respiratory and autonomic centers are interesting issues have been raised about consequences of nasal irritations. The aim study was evaluation how intranasal stimulation influences lung mechanics determines whether unilateral produces partitioning responses. Tracheotomized-paralyzed rats received air-puff stimulation. Inspiratory pressure- volume (P-V) curve obtained. Low frequency forced oscillation technique (FOT) used detect changes in central peripheral airways. Mean airway pressure significantly increased >10 cmH2O presence 5cmH2O positive end-expiratory pressure. Elastance changed, significant higher resistance (Raw) lower reactance (Xrs) were noticed airways following different side Calculated inspiratory P-V showed deviations transitional, rising maximal pressures stimulations. Transitional left-side shifting observed right stimulation, whereas left shifted right. May be altered is bimodal pressure-volume relationships
