摘要: Publisher Summary γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) is one of the major neurotransmitters in vertebrate central nervous system. L-Glutamate decarboxylase (GAD), which catalyzes α-decarboxylation L-glutamate to form GABA and CO 2 , rate-limiting enzyme that normally determines steady-state levels invertebrate systems. There good correlation between GAD activity Hence, a better marker for GABAergic neurons than per se, may redistribute or be metabolized during preparation tissues. This chapter discusses various purification procedures, assay methods, criteria purity preparations. The immunochemical characterization anti-GAD serum immunocytochemical studies are also discussed. assayed by radiometric method based on formation 14 from either L-[1- C] - L-[U- glutamate.
