摘要: Alternariol (AOH) is a mycotoxin produced by fungus Alternaria. It found in wide variety of fruits and cereals products. AOH able to damage human health. The aim this study was evaluate the cytotoxicity colon adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cells. Moreover, some events related oxidative stress were evaluated: reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated oxidation 2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate; peroxidation lipid (LPO) malondialdehyde (MDA) production; antioxidant enzymatic capability catalase (CAT) superoxide dismutase (SOD). Cytotoxicity (from 3.125 100 μM) determined during 24, 48 72 h exposure different endpoints. decreased cell viability MTT, NR PC assays. However, no IC50 values obtained any assays tested. induced strong Caco-2 cells generation ROS production LPO associated with rise SOD activity at all concentration increased 1.2-fold respect control MDA ranged from 130% 250% compared control. Our results demonstrated that spite showing cytotoxic effect on highest tested, observed concentrations assayed. This could cause an injury be hazardous
