摘要: We present in this paper the design, development and pilot process of Lwazi community communication service (LCCS), a multilingual automated telephone-based information service. The acts as dissemination tool that enables managers at local Thusong centres to broadcast (e.g. health, employment, social grants) workers communities they serve. LCCS allows recipients obtain up-to-date, relevant timely efficient manner, overcoming obstacles transportation, time costs incurred trying physically from centres. discuss our experiences fieldwork piloting six locations nationally eleven official South African languages. analyze usage pattern call logs thereafter implications these findings for future projects design similar services serving rural developing world regions.
