摘要: Cladophialophora immunda is an ascomycotal species belonging to the group of black yeasts. These fungi have a thick and melanized cell wall other physiological adaptations that allows them cope with several extreme physical chemical conditions. Member can colonize some most extremophilic environments on Earth. together few order Chaetothyriales show special association hydrocarbon polluted environments. The finding fungus able completely mineralize toluene makes it interesting candidate for bioremediation purposes. present study first transcriptomic investigation grown in presence as sole carbon energy source. We could observe activation genes involved degradatation stress response mechanisms which allowed survive exposure. thorough comparative genomics analysis us identify events horizontal gene transfer between bacteria unveil degradation steps were previously reported bacteria. work presented here aims give new insights into ecology its adaptation strategies
