Goblet cell carcinoid of the appendix

摘要: Twelve tumors of the appendix are described which show histologic features different from both ordinary carcinoid and adenocarcinoma. The principal cell type has a close resemblance to normal goblet in epithelium intestinal tract. Paneth's argentaffin cells were present considerable numbers some these tumors. histology prognosis suggest tumor very low grade malignancy, comparable with behavior non-argentaffin appendix. However, is sufficiently distinctive justify separate classification, we therefore recommend expression „goblet carcinoid”
