摘要: PURPOSE: Survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer are at risk for long-term effects disease treatment. The Childhood Cancer Survivor Study assessed overall cause-specific mortality in a retrospective cohort 20,227 5-year survivors. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Eligible subjects were individuals diagnosed with (from 1970 to 1986) before the age 21 who had survived 5 years from diagnosis. Underlying cause death was obtained certificates other sources coded categorized as recurrent disease, sequelae treatment, or non–cancer-related. Age sex standardized ratios (SMRs) calculated using United States population data.
