摘要: Abstract Cardiac, thyroid and pulmonary function were evaluated in 25 patients aged 35 years or under, treated for Hodgkin's disease by mantle radiotherapy 5–16 previously. No patient had symptoms of heart disease. Although thallium myocardial perfusion scintigraphy was normal all patients, abnormalities detected 6 (24%) using gated equilibrium rest exercise radionuclide ventriculography. Resting left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) abnormal 1 patient, 3 there an LVEF response to exercise. All right dilatation. Apical hypokinesia present 4 these patients. A small asymptomatic pericardial effusion M-Mode echocardiography only 2 (8%) Twenty-three (92%) evidence function. Two become clinically hypothyroid. Serum TSH elevated 13 (52%) TRH stimulation test a further 10 (40%) whom normal. Pulmonary studies showed moderate decrease diffusing capacity (72% predicted) minor reduction lung volume. high incidence cardiac, detected, the who hypothyroid symptomatic. Modification irradiation technique may reduce cardiac abnormalities, but is unlikely alter significantly sequelae.
