摘要: Paraffin-embedded surgical specimens from 69 patients who underwent resections of otherwise untreated Dukes stage C adenocarcinoma the colon were examined for proliferative activity, DNA aneuploidy, index, and proportion aneuploid cells by flow cytometry. Results correlated to clinical characteristics overall survival times. tumors identified in 60 cases (87%), diploid 9 (13%). The mean S-phase fraction all was 17.6%, with a standard deviation (SD) 7.8. In univariate statistical analysis, younger patient age, lower tumor index less than or equal 1.2, presence only 1-4 lymph nodes involvement found be significant predictors improved survival. multivariate Cox regression low location right transverse independent increased When activity stratified into statistically defined subgroups, (S-phase - 0.5 SD) had significantly longer moderate value greater SD +0.5 high SD). These results suggest that carcinoma may an important biological factor determining prognosis.
