摘要: Abstract This study was aimed at investigating the phytochemical constituents, antioxidant activities and antibacterial of Asparagus suaveolens ( A. ) aerial parts. Antioxidant properties were assessed by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay, hydrogen peroxide assay reducing power assay. Antibacterial activity extract micro-dilution method 2008 WHO Neisseria gonorrhoea N. reference strains used for this purpose. Qualitative analysis showed presence alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, glycosides, anthraquinones, terpenoids steroids, sugar, proteins coumarins. An effective free 71% observed chloroform fraction 2.5 mg/mL. Butan-1-ol had 79% inhibition 55% 2.0 mg/mL compared to all other fractions but less than standards. The n- hexane moderate growth against F, O P with MIC values 1.3 mg/mL, 0.12 mg/mL 1.63 mg/mL, respectively. MBC same strains. promising anti- parts confirms its traditional use in treatment infections Bolahlakgomo Village commuters Limpopo Province, South Africa.
