摘要: Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop a highly miniaturized wireless inertial sensor system based on novel 3D packaging technique using flexible printed circuit (FPC). device very suitable for wearable applications in which small size and lightweight are required such as body area network, medical, sports entertainment applications.Design/methodology/approach Modern measurement units typically implemented rigid 2D board (PCB). design concept presented here around the use planar, six‐faceted, crucifix or cross‐shaped FPC instead PCB. A number specific functional blocks (such microelectromechanical systems gyroscope accelerometer sensors, microcontroller (MCU), radio transceiver, antenna, etc.) first assigned each six faces 1 cm2 area. cross then developed into 1 cm3, configuration by folding at five bend planes. result ...
