摘要: This chapter reviews the literature that led to discovery of skeletal muscle-derived Hematopoietic stem cells (ms-HSCs) and current understanding phenotype, function, origin this cell population. (HSCs) are functionally defined by their ability repopulate all hematopoietic system after ablation. Until recently, bone marrow was considered only significant source adult HSCs. Myogenic cells, known as satellite mononuclear found beneath basal lamina surrounding muscle fibers. They become activated in response injury responsible for formation new myofibers regenerating muscle. Satellite several criteria: location within muscle; differentiate into vitro vivo; presence specific markers, such c-met, m-cadherin, myf-5, CD34. Three groups independently transplanted crude or enriched populations lethally irradiated mice assess capacity
