摘要: Summary Morphological alterations of parotid and submandibular salivary glands rhesus monkeys were studied 1–72 h 16–40 weeks postirradiation (PI) with single photon doses 2.5–15.0 Gy, or 10.2 Gy given in 6 fractions. Acute degeneration necrosis serous cells both clearly expressed by 24 PI occurred a dose-related fashion. In glands, 12.5 15.0 damaged mucous cells, but to considerably lesser extent than the same glands. No significant sparing was evident dose fractionation. These observations demonstrate unique sensitivity which appear undergo interphase cell death after irradiation. The results also show that late atrophy direct result acute loss acini reflects lack regeneration acinar receiving injury.
