摘要: Different opportunities are explored to evaluate quality variation in raw materials from biological origin. Assessment of attributes is an important step a bio-based production as fluctuations major source process disturbance. This can be due variety biological, seasonal, and supply scarcity reasons. The final properties product invariably linked with the initial material. Thus, operational conditions tuned drive required specification based on assessment material being processed. Process analytical technology tools which enable this far more informative rapid manner than current industrial practices that rely rule-of-thumb decisions assessed. An example citrus peels used demonstrate conceptual performance differences distinct approaches. analysis demonstrates advantage characterization through multivariate data coupled complementary spectroscopic technique, near-infrared spectroscopy. quantitative comparative three different approaches, discriminant classification expert-knowledge, unsupervised classification, correlation reference physicochemical variables, performed same dataset context. © 2018 Her Majesty Queen Right Canada American Institute Chemical Engineers Biotechnol.
