The predominance pyogenic is in marked contrast previous studies region a decade ago which amoebic commonest type. pathogen causing abscess was Klebsiella pneumoniae. Two due Mycobacterium tuberculosis, this organism needs be actively looked for smears cultures aspirated material. As majority organisms isolated resistant ampicillin, empirical antibiotic treatment suspected should include gentamicin or cephalosporin. Percutaneous needle aspiration performed 85% surgery necessary only because complications. We found that percutaneous helpful confirm diagnosis, provides better bacteriological culture yield, gives good outcome, may uncover clinically unsuspected conditions like malignancy tuberculoma mimic presentation abscesses. recommend routine cytological examination material as well stains acid-fast bacilli.
