摘要: Abstract Laser gas assisted melting of high strength low alloy steel surface is carried out. The pre-prepared to contain 5% B 4 C particles in a 40 μm thick carbon film prior laser treatment process. Metallurgical and morphological changes the treated layer are examined by using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction. residual stress developed microhardness resulting measured. It found that remain solid phase region due their temperature. dense consisting fine grains formed at feathery like structure observed below vicinity, which consists martensite nitride precipitations. use nitrogen pressure causes formation compounds surface, contributes volume shrinkage layer. Surface increases considerably because attainment cooling rates, compounds, presence surface.
