摘要: Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is a ubiquitous mitogen that was originally discovered because it the principal source of activity for mesenchymal cells in culture present whole blood serum and missing cell-free, plasma-derived (Kohler Lipton 1974; Ross et al. 1974). The possibility platelets might serve as this had been postulated by Balk (1971). However, not until demonstrated could restore all from plasma did become clear these were only PDGF, but other factors also serum. These include an epidermal factor-like molecule (Oka Orth 1983), angiogenic (Miyazono 1987), transforming factor-β (TGF-β; Assoian 1983; Childs 1982), which appear to be sequestered within α-granules (White Witte 1978; Kaplan 1979 a, b; Gerrard 1980).
