摘要: Cobitis avicennae , new species, from the Karkheh and Karun sub-drainages in Tigris catchment is distinguished other species Persian Gulf, Kor southern Caspian Sea basins by having a single lamina circularis males, small comma-shaped black spot on upper caudal-fin base, 5½ branched anal-fin rays, 5–6 rows of dark spots dorsal caudal fins, scales below dorsal-fin base with focal zone pigmentation Z4 12–17 large, partly fused blotches. It also comparison group six fixed, diagnostic nucleotide substitutions mtDNA COI barcode region.
