摘要: This study examined the links between use of antenatal care (ANC) and family planning (FP) in India. Data were obtained from 1992-93 National Family Health Survey among a systematic multistage stratified sample 89777 ever-married women aged 13-49 years 14 major states. Findings indicate that most mothers had received ANC except Rajasthan Bihar Assam Uttar Pradesh. Women tended to be knowledgeable about only 1 method. All 4 official methods widely known Kerala Punjab. Sterilization prevalence was over 60% all states Punjab West Bengal. Greater coverage significantly related contraceptive prevalence. who did not receive attach importance it. Knowledge highest Acceptance associated with greater knowledge contraception especially illiterate women. increased current exception Andhra Pradesh Tamil Nadu The odds FP acceptors twice nonacceptors controls for relevant correlates.
