Demographic, socio-economic and environmental determinants of utilisation of antenatal care in a rural setting of Sindh, Pakistan.

摘要: OBJECTIVE Majority of the women in developing countries are unable receive antenatal care for a variety reasons. This study determines factors affecting utilisation by rural area Sindh, Pakistan. METHODS A cross-sectional was conducted during August 1997, Union Council Jhangara, Married women, who had delivered at least one child, were included from each household and systematically 222 eligible selected. The effects demographic, socio-economic environmental on care, their most recent pregnancy also studied. Multivariate logistic regression analysis used to assess independent effect individual factors. RESULTS Among subjects, 29.3% (65) utilised last (most recent) out them 72.3% (47) received it government health provider. Presence electricity house strongly associated with (AOR = 5.3; 95% CI 2.2-12.7). Women whose husbands white-collar occupation, utilizing significantly more 2.4; 1.2-4.6) compared blue-collar occupations. CONCLUSION shows that social status economic condition woman is an important determinant care. Therefore, improvement socioeconomic required increase utilization perinatal
