摘要: Abstract X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectroscopy has been used to study the chemical nature of antiwear films generated on steel surfaces using zinc dialkyldithiophosphates (ZDDPs), in presence detergents and dispersants. The spectra were recorded both total electron yield (TEY) fluorescence (FY) modes, investigate P,S, Ca O surface bulk, respectively. interaction a commercial secondary ZDDP with calcium sulphonate (neutral) detergent, phenate (basic) detergent polyisobutylene succinic anhydride polyamide dispersant examined. Using range concentrations, it found that interacts only at high concentration (≥2%), whereas affects film formation even low concentrations. strongest for dispersant. polyphosphate formed these additive have shorter chain length compared alone contain less unchanged ZDDP. These finding are discussed framework mechanism presented Part 1 this study.
