摘要: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) called a ban on mulesing in Australian sheep industry 2004. Mulesing is surgical procedure that removes wool-bearing skin from tail and breech area order to prevent flystrike (cutaneous myiasis). Flystrike occurs when flies lay their eggs soiled areas wool can be fatal host.
