摘要: a b s t r c . Diet composition and feeding habits of eurasian otters ( Lutra lutra) living on three moors (Balata, nagyberek Feherviz) in Hungary were studied over two years using spraint analysis (n = 199, 503 315 samples from the moors, respectively). The food presence first moderate second drought year, when dried during summer period, generally differed. area-dependent variations diet also found. primary source was fish (biomass estimation for year: Balata 94.4% 99.9%; 93.9% 71.5%; Feherviz 66.4% 82.1%). Most (mean: 94.6–99.9%) small-sized (below 100 g weight), most frequently taken species Carassius spp. On which are dependent rainfall ground-water only, or after periods temporarily changed their optimal prey (fish) to sub-optimal (e.g., waterfowl) they often left habitat entirely. with small canals, kept as dominant source, weathered out extreme environmental local conditions.
