Kinetic Study of the Thermal Decomposition of Potassium Chlorate Using the Non-isothermal TG/DSC Technique

摘要: The non-isothermal TG/DSC technique has been used to study the kinetic triplet of thermal decomposition potassium chlorate at different heating rates (5, 10, 15 and 20 °C·min−1). DSC results showed two consecutive broad exothermic peaks after melting. first peak contains a shoulder indicating presence least processes. overlapped were resolved by fitting procedure, three for evaluation each step. TG also mass losses kinetics loss processes studied using DTG peaks. activation energies calculated KAS model-free method. pre-exponential factor best model step determined means compensation effect, selected models confirmed nonlinear average obtained from 237.3, 293.8, 231.3 kJ·mol−1 steps KClO3. 231.0 239.9 second steps. Avrami-Erofeev Ax/y with function g(α) = [−ln(1−α)]x/y (x/y 5/4 3/2) was most probable describing reaction
