摘要: Ecological Footprint accounting quantifies the supply and demand of Earth’s biocapacity. The National Accounts (NFA) are most widely used (EF) dataset, provide results for countries world from 1961 to 2014, based primarily on publicly available UN datasets. Here, we review evolution NFA, describe quantify effects improvements that have been implemented into accounts since 2012 edition, latest global trends. Comparing over six editions NFAs, find time-series trends in remain stable, common year (2008) has increased percent after four major more than thirty minor improvements. NFA 2018 Edition 2014 indicate humanity’s is 1.7 Earths, ecological overshoot continues grow. While improved management practices agricultural yields assisted a steady increase biocapacity 1961, at faster pace biocapacity, particularly Asia, where total per capita increasing all other regions.
