IMPACTS OF SUBSIDIES ON THE COSTS OF URBAN PUBLIC TRANSPORT

摘要: As transit subsidies have increased by a factor of 15 in the United States during 1970s, article argues that problems productivity and cost mass thus undermining potential benefits subsidies. The discussion reviews nationwide trends subsidies, compares them with changes indices, then uses multiple regression analysis on pooled cross-section sample 77 systems 1979 135 1980 to measure separate impacts costs. Recommendations are made concerning revisions subsidy programme likely encourage more efficient use funds.
