DESIGN Using repeated cross-sectional nationally representative data, we calculated the prevalence (stunting, wasting, overweight) at each survey wave, annualized rates change for country over time, before after 2000, all years separately those ≥2 years. We examined (ratio stunting to (coexistence SETTING Demographic Health Surveys from LMIC between 1990 2012. SUBJECTS Children RESULTS Overall decreased driven by decreases. Stunting 78 % countries, wasting 58 overweight increased 36 countries. Rates differed with <2 experiencing decreases fewer yet increases more Countries nearly equal prevalences 2000 final year. Within a country, 0·3-10·9 were stunted overweight, 0·6-37·8 overweight. CONCLUSIONS The exists on both individual levels, indicating shift is needed policies programmes address sides malnutrition. should be identified as high-risk demographic.
