摘要: This study characterized fishing activity in the reservoir of Hydroelectric Power Plant Ita Brazil. The is located Upper Uruguay River, which forms border between states Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. To analyze composition ichthyofauna after damming, questionnaires were administered to fishermen region 2004 2009. results showed that can be classified as a subsistence performed on small vessels usually involving use drift nets handlines. Between 2009, 292,780.10 kg worth fish captured, with an average annual productivity 3.46 ha−1 yr−1. We recorded highest values catch per unit effort 2006, 9.69 fisherman−1 day−1. A total 27 morphospecies captured during sample period; carp, traira, mandi jundia together accounted for almost 60% catch. finding indicates centered capture sedentary short-distance migratory species. Despite their lower abundance, long-distance species continue captured. case piracanjuba, reintroduced still present catches, particularly noteworthy. Regarding fishermen's socioeconomic profile, all men, most who have engaged more than eleven years, low educational level, aid family members list agriculture main economic activity.
