摘要: Objective: To find out the frequency of malignant solid tumors in children (<15 years). Setting: All cases pediatric which were diagnosed section histopathology at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi during period two years. Methods: These initially evaluated on H&E stained sections and special stains also performed whenever indicated. The undifferentiated immunohistochemically by using a panel antibodies from routinely processed, formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissue blocks. Results: Of hundred fifty three (253) consecutive paediatric tumors, lymphoma (26.1 %) was most common tumor followed central nervous system (16.6%), osteosarcoma (7.5%), rhabdomyosarcoma (6.7%), neuroblastoma (5.1%), Wilm's Ewing's sarcoma (4.7%), retinoblastoma germ cell (4.4%) primitive neuroectodermal (4%) order frequency. In seven (2.8%), nature lesion remained undetermined even after immunohistochemical staining. Rest (12.3%) included rare entities like synovial sarcoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, leiomyosarcoma, schwannoma thyroid etc. Conclusion: Lymphoma frequent Paediatric tumor. childhood quite high as compared to other series different regions Pakistan.
