摘要: PURPOSETo evaluate the effectiveness of combined intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) and perioperative chemotherapy in management unresectable pancreatic cancer.MATERIALS AND METHODSForty-nine patients with localized adenocarcinoma pancreas were treated a multimodality program initial IORT (fluorouracil [5-FU]/leucovorin) followed by external-beam (40 to 55 Gy) continued chemotherapy. Patients evaluated for toxicity, pattern failure, survival. The follow-up times these range from minimum 12 months maximum 62 months, median 28 months.RESULTSThe incidence mortality was 0%. Early postsurgical morbidity (grade 3/4) observed seven 49 (14%) late treatment-related eight 43 (19%) alive beyond 6 months.
