Oral health status of 5 years and 12 years school going children in Chennai city - An epidemiological study

摘要: India, a developing country, faces many challenges in rendering oral health needs. The majority of Indian population resides rural areas which more than 40% constitute children. purpose this study was to assess the status 5 years and 12 school going children Chennai city. consisted 1200 both sexes (600 private 600 corporation children) 30 schools, had been selected randomly. survey is based on WHO, 1999 Oral Health Assessment, has modified by including gingival assessment, enamel opacities/ hypoplasia for years. Evaluation these revealed, dental caries most prevalent disease affecting permanent teeth, primary teeth thereby, correlating with socioeconomic status. It may be concluded that greatest need education at an early age proper instruction hygiene practices preventive programs, would help improving behaviour attitude beneficial life time.
