Cost effectiveness/utility analyses. Do current decision rules lead us to where we want to be?

摘要: Despite the growing literature on economic evaluation of health care programmes, little attention has been paid to theoretical foundations cost-effectiveness and cost utility analyses validity decision rules adopted as methods achieving stated goals. We show that although applications techniques can be used pursue some managerial objectives in context highly constrained environments, such are inconsistent with both welfare interpretations findings these applications. Alternative strategies identified potential practical for pursuing objectives.
