Rotational diffusion in polyacrylamide gels as a function of solvent quality

摘要: We have investigated the rotational motion of dianion polyphenyl 2 (PP2) in polyacrylamide (PAA) gels by fluorescence anisotropy decay. A comparison dynamics probe molecule various solvent mixtures water–glycerol and water–methanol solution as well presence polymer matrix revealed a significant retardation reorientation with increasing PAA concentration. Having excluded specific interactions PP2 gel matrix, we suggest that modification viscosity is responsible for alteration dynamics. The effect strongly dependent on quality component, i.e., more distinct under good conditions (in pure water) than poor (increasing glycerol content).
