摘要: We review the optical properties, fabrication, and applications of zero-mode waveguides (ZMWs) for single-molecule studies. These simple nano-structures allow individual molecules to be isolated analysis at high concentrations. Fluorescent species are observed in a sufficiently small volume that average number fluorescent is less than one, even concentrations enough biochemical reactions proceed normal rates. Arrays such structures can also engineered into systems real-time large numbers or binding events. integration ZMWs different configurations microfluidic systems.
