摘要: OBJECTIVES Propofol causes considerable pain upon injection, although different methods and propofol formulations have been used to decrease this pain. We aimed investigate the effect of i.v. esmolol pretreatment on injection METHODS Ninety ASA I-II patients undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia were randomly assigned into three groups thirty each. A 20 G cannula was inserted dorsum nondependent hand. After venous occlusion for one minute, E, L S pretreated with 5 mg/ml (total 2 ml) esmolol, 40 mg lidocaine ml saline respectively. release occlusion, fourth total dose administered at a rate 0.5 ml/sec. During both solution propofol, patient assessed by using 4 point scale. Heart noninvasive arterial blood pressure values recorded before induction, just after entubation five minutes entubation. RESULTS Demographic similar among groups. Incidence in control, 90%, 33.3%, 50% respectively (p<0.05). rate, systolic pressure, diastolic not between CONCLUSION Pretreatment low Seems be effective attenuating during injection.
