摘要: Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma is the fifth most common cancer worldwide and one of lethal. Chemoprevention involving use synthetic or natural products to inhibit reverse carcinogenic process an effective approach control cancer. Woodfordia fruticosa important medicinal plant its flowers have been reported possess hepatoprotective antitumor properties. Objective To study effect methanolic extract W. (MEWF) on hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods In this MEWF was tested by following serum parameters like AFP, ALP, LDH Bilirubin; tissue level GSH, CAT MDA; histopathology liver immunohistochemical analysis vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Antiproliferative studied in human hepatoma PLC/PRF/5 cells MTT assay. The chemotherapeutic drug, 5-flurouracil (5-FU) used as positive control. Results This validates potential chemopreventive efficacy MEWF. Conclusion antioxidant activities may be due free radical scavenging antiproliferative effect. Therefore, serve a novel therapeutic agent for treatment mediated diseases particularly
