摘要: INTRODUCTION:In Venezuela, acute diarrheic syndrome (ADS) is a primary cause of morbi-mortality, often involving the Salmonella genus. infections are associated with gastroenteritis, one most common alimentary intoxications, and caused by consumption contaminated water food, especially meat. METHODS: Conventional molecular methods were used to detect strains from 330 fecal samples individuals different ages both sexes ADS. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was for characterization Salmonella, using invA, sefA, fliC genes identification this genus serotypes Enteritidis Typhimurium, respectively. RESULTS: The highest frequency ADS found in children 0-2 years old (39.4%), overall positive coprocultures 76.9%. A total 14 (4.2%) biochemically immunologically identified as enterica subsp. enterica, which 7 classified belonging serotype, 4 Typhimurium 3 other serotypes. S. distributed more frequently age groups 3-4 9-10 old. CONCLUSIONS: method proved be highly specific typing DNA extracted isolated colonies selective enrichment broths directly inoculated samples, thus representing complementary tool detection ADS-causing bacteria.
