摘要: This paper investigated the interactions between gender stereotypes for jobs, applicant gender, and communication styles used by male female applicants during an interview. study was conducted as a laboratory experiment, utilizing 2x2x2 mixed design. Subjects read one job description heard three audiotapes of all or exhibiting dominant, submissive, neutral style. The subjects then rated on five dimensions. These dimensions are likeability, competence, sociability, overall impression, hireability. Results showed significant style four in this study. An inspection dimension means revealed different effects gender‐appropriate gender‐inappropriate behavior males females. Males were penalized ratings impression hireability communicating stereotypically manners. Females sociability likeability fashion. implications these findings using interviews discussed terms aversive genderism.
