摘要: Corn (Zea mays L.) hybrid selection and plant density are important management considerations for successful forage production in dairy livestock operations. The objectives of this study were (i) to determine the effect on high- low-quality corn hybrids (ii) describe economic trade-off between yield quality. Two adapted selected high low quality characteristics grown field at five densities ranging from 44 500 104 plants ha -1 six locations Wisconsin during 1994, 1995, 1996. Forage response among was similar across range evaluated. As increased, dry matter increased 1.7 4.1 Mg , depending location. Maximum yields observed 97 300 102 200 harvested . In vitro true digestibility decreased 16 23 g kg as increased. Crude protein 6 8 Neutral-detergent fiber 20 35 acid-detergent 19 29 with increasing density. A exists forage. Milk 98 143 milk densities, but 926 2176 until about 75 000 85 - 1 did not change higher densities.
