Last Endemic Mammals in Hispaniola

摘要: After searching many remote regions in the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, author discovered that island's last two endemic mammals, formerly believed to be rare, are fact common some areas. But human pressures on hutia Plagiodonria aedium and solenodon S. paradoxus such that, unless Governments Haiti Dominican Republic take effective steps both could soon become extinct.
