Tumorigenicity of cell lines (VMDk) derived from a spontaneous murine astrocytoma

摘要: Three cell lines (VMDk), derived from a spontaneous murine astrocytoma, which exhibit both morphological and antigenic characteristics of astrocytes in vitro (Pilkington et al. 1983), have been injected intracerebrally subcutaneously into syngeneic mice at range concentrations order to assess the number cells required produce highest yield tumours with shortest possible latent period. Light- electron-microscopical studies confirmed their glial nature, however immunocytochemical staining for astrocyte-specific markers fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) glutamine synthetase (GS) vimentin suggest that are composed mainly poorly-differentiated neoplastic cells. Although best-differentiated three failed tumours, an invasive transplantable astrocytoma model has, nevertheless, characterised fully can now be used study effects various therapeutic regimens.
