摘要: Abstract The transition from solid-state bonding of the stainless steel 304L (SS) with Zircaloy-4 (Zy-4) to a partial liquid phase is very important for process at 950–1050 °C. Previous studies demonstrate that growth rate reaction product zone (RPZ) 1050 °C show an intermediate behaviour which interesting industrial point view regarding process. In this work, interfacial interactions between SS and Zy-4 during isothermal holdings are studied holding times up 45 min. Diffusion couples were characterized by ESEM-EDS-EBSD EPMA techniques. RPZ consists three layers: first layer LI α-(Fe,Cr) its thickness increases slightly time. On contrary, thickness, morphology nature phases formed in LII LIII layers strongly depend on interaction Based experimental results study, schematic evolution SS/Zy-4 system mechanisms proposed. This study leads better understanding complex phenomena intervening joining useful applications scale.
