摘要: Bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) infection in cattle and buffalo makes these animals life-long carriers of the virus which is intermittently excreted semen. In present study, a real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was validated to screen frozen semen from for BoHV-1 by amplification gB gene virus. Analysing intra- inter-test variability, assay found be highly reproducible. High sensitivity (100%) specificity (90.04%) this PCR recorded comparison isolation. Extended samples 574 cattle bulls that were seropositive infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) tested indicated 1.97% batches 3.36% positive BoHV-1. The protocol will useful screening large numbers IBR-seropositive as test less time consuming several can with ease compared isolation cell culture.
