摘要: This paper presents an improvement of the Visual Pattern image coding (VPIC) scheme presented by Chen and Bovik in (2) (3). The patterns this improved are defined morphological operations classified absolute error minimization. identifies more uniform blocks reduces noise effect. Therefore, it improves compression ratio quality is steel preserved. To achieve a better ratio, hierarchical approach based on merging also described. Experimental results show that provides higher ratios compared to ordinary VPIC.
