摘要: Abstract Until now, there has not been consensus about the superiority of thermally coupled sequence over conventional in extractive distillation process. In this sense, main goal paper is to analyze three approaches for saving energy process: optimization, thermal integration and coupling. Three azeotropic mixtures were investigated: ethanol water (M1); tetrahydrofuran (M2); acetone methanol (M3). The solvents ethylene glycol M1 M2, M3. results are shown terms total annual cost (TAC) specific consumption (SEC), revealed that a with side rectifier did always present best results. Taking case studies from literature as starting point (without integration), optimization procedure used work found TACs lower. inclusion configurations led reducing TAC all under investigation when compared sequences without integration. When comparing two modifications layout distillation, it can be seen more advantageous use preheating feed recycle stream recovery column than using sequence.
