摘要: Asthma is an inflammatory disease characterized by bronchial hyper-responsiveness that can proceed to life-threatening airway obstruction. It one of the most common diseases in industrialized countries, and United States accounts for about 1% all healthcare costs1. prevalence mortality have increased dramatically over past decade2, occupational asthma predicted be pre-eminent lung next decade3. Increasing evidence suggests adenosine, endogenous purine involved normal physiological processes, may important mediator asthma4–15. In contrast individuals, asthmatic individuals respond adenosine challenge with marked obstruction6,7, concentrations are elevated bronchoalveolar lavage fluid patients9. We performed a randomized crossover study using dust mite-conditioned allergic rabbit model human asthma. Administration aerosolized phosphorothioate antisense oligodeoxynucleotide targeting A1 receptor desensitized animals subsequent either or dust-mite allergen.
