摘要: Pigeons ate food ad lib, then fasted for several days, and finally a controlled amount of once day months to maintain body weight at 80% the lib value. Whole-body dry heat loss (HL) core temperature (Tb) were measured continuously each pigeon. Thermal conductance (C) was calculated from HL Tb. Relative feeding, 24-h reduced by approximately 50% during fasting feeding. The majority energy savings achieved lowering C, which appeared saturated low value throughout most light dark phases. Therefore, pigeon's characteristic high Tb in daily phase restriction does not necessarily imply expenditure. In phase, characteristically enhances already being through lowered C. cycle Tb, lesser extent strongly altered occasional probe variations given single feeding shift time
