摘要: We investigated the mechanism of starvation-induced hypothermia in rats. Threshold core temperatures (Tcor) for tail skin vasodilatation and cold-induced thermogenesis were determined after a 3 day starvation using chronically implanted intravenous thermode. Food deprivation significantly lowered threshold Tcor heat production, but did not affect loss threshold. Thermogenic response to fall below its was enhanced by starvation. Preferred ambient (Tpref) measured before during thermal gradient. The only light phase day. level same throughout fasting period, while Tpref gradually increased days starvation. When rats starved at constant temperature 25°C (no gradient), their levels comparable with those kept gradient. The results suggest that, rats, caused due decrement thermogenic capability, decrease activation thermogenesis.
