摘要: Previous investigations of memory in senile dementia the Alzheimer's type (SDAT) have focused on verbal learning and memory. The aim present study was to determine whether amnesia SDAT is limited material. Patients with (N = 29; mean age 69.3) healthy normal controls 41; were given a test facial perception two recognition tasks, one for words faces. results indicate that patients show deficit retention information. This cannot be attributed faculty initial or response bias. deficits appear differ: performance tests relatively independent, substantial encoding linguistic defects contribute verbal, but not facial, disorder resulting more severe impairment implications these findings research neuropharmacology pathophysiology are discussed.
