摘要: In a previous study, repeated sequence, RPS1, was cloned from the genomic DNA of Candida albicans. It 2.1 kb in length and tandemly limited region almost all chromosomes. this we examined characterized diversity repeating structure RPS units were 2.1, 2.3, 2.5, 2.9 kbp after digestion with SmaI 2.3 PstI, differences being multiples approximately 0.2 kbp. Moreover, one or two types unit present specifically on each chromosome. We 14 mixed chromosomes 1 2 59 chromosome 6. These classified into four by their SfiI profiles chromosomal origins. Sequence comparisons revealed tandem arrangement internal, small 172 bp. This repetition designated alt (C. albicans unit). The size variable, sizes representing series increments that corresponded to sequence. By contrast, sequences other than repeats alts highly conserved, homology more 98% among units. results suggested plays an important role organization function C. even though actual has not yet been clarified. Structural features contains sequence are discussed relation human alpha-satellite its about 170 bp similar alt, which is responsible for variations higher-order repeats. Images
